Meditation for Women

Meditation helps to release more Oxytocin and switch your physiological state from sympathetic nervous system to parasympathetic. There are many ways of doing meditation. I tell you how I meditate.

I sit on the chair, put my hands on my laps (palm side up) and close my eyes. I start focusing on my hands (left first then right) until I feel a pleasant tingling sensation or warmth on both hands. Then, in my mind, I start raising these tingling (or warm) sensations up to my arms, shoulders, neck, face, then down to my chest, abdomen, legs and feet until I feel tingling (or warm) sensations in my whole body. It takes about 30-40 min for me to do this kind of meditation.

I often do a shorter version of the same meditation when I raise the tingling sensation only to my shoulders and face and/or to an internal organ or a part of my body I want to heal. It takes about 10-15 minutes.

What are these tingling sensations? These are the endings of the parasympathetic nerves starting to release pleasure hormones, because meditation stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system. These pleasure hormones (including Oxytocin) heal your body and make you resilient to any stress.
